A Gift Guide for Your Full-Time RVer Friends

Full-time RVing is becoming more and more popular. People are selling everything they own and hitting the road. If you’re not a full-timer yourself, you likely know someone who is.

With the holiday season just around the corner, shopping for those full-timer friends might be stressing you out. What do you get the person who lives minimally and collects experiences over things? I’m here to help.

Here’s a gift guide for the full-time RVer in your life. But it’s not just your average list of must-haves. After several years of RVing full-time myself, I’ve met almost every type of RVer out there while striking up conversations at the campground. So I’ve organized the guide by different RV personality types to make it even more convenient for you to find the perfect gift.

For the Adventurer

Is your full-timer friend all about seeking outdoor adventures and thrills? This type of RVer is active and always looking for new experiences in the places they visit. Here are a couple gift ideas for them.

A Hydration Pack

We all know water is a must for long hikes, bike rides, or really anytime you’re outdoors for an extended amount of time. The CamelBak M.U.L.E. 100-oz. Hydration Pack is a must-have for any outdoor enthusiast. It’s one of their bestselling, longest-running packs so you can rest assured it’s a great gift.

Inflatable Stand Up Paddleboard

Paddleboarding is one of the most popular water activities out there. It’s great for adventurers of all ages, too. This Overton’s stand up paddleboard is especially perfect for RVers since it is inflatable and can therefore be easily stored in an RV’s outdoor compartments.

I am a huge fan of my Overton’s stand up paddleboard! I use it any chance I get.

Does your full-timer friend love to cook? Do they wake everyone at the campground to the smell of their bacon sizzling on the cast iron? Here are some excellent gift options so they can keep serving up those delicious meals.

Grill

Your full-timer friend will be cooking with gas…literally! Blackstone grills have become all the rage and every grill master needs one. This Blackstone Gas Tailgater Combo Grill/Griddle is both versatile and portable. The combo is great because it has a grill and a griddle, making food prep of all kinds a breeze!

This all-in-one kitchen gadget couldn’t be more perfect for RV life. The Kalorik Black and Stainless Steel Perfect Sear Pressure Cooker is not just a pressure cooker but also a steamer, slow cooker, and more, which eliminates the need for multiple appliances in a tiny RV kitchen. Meals can be made quickly on the go, another reason it’s great for the RVer in your life.

Hammocks are the ultimate relaxation station and this Mac Sports Portable Folding Hammock doesn’t require any trees to set up. It even has a built-in pillow for added comfort. Give the gift of rest!

Screened Canopy

The Clam Quick-Set Escape Screen Shelter will allow your full-timer friend to be outdoors but stay comfortable and cool. For the Gadget Guru

There are always those RVers at the campground who have the latest tools and technology on hand. These RVers are all about getting products that make RV life safer, easier, and more convenient.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System

No RVer should really go without a tire pressure monitor. This TireMinder TM-77 Tire Pressure Monitoring System with 6 Transmitters is one of the most popular because of all it’s features and the safety it guarantees. It checks for tire issues every 6 seconds, monitors up to 22 tires and easily allows for up to 3 separate vehicles to be added. Nothing can ruin an RV road trip like a tire blow out, so giving this gift will give your RVer friend the peace of mind they need.

Surge Protector

Faulty power at RV parks and campgrounds can ruin an RV’s electrical system as well as any expensive electronics inside of it. With this Southwire Portable Surge Guard Protector RVers can prevent such damage, making it a must-have product and perfect gift idea.

My husband, the gadget guru, never hooks our RV up to power without using a surge protector

GPS

Every RVer needs an RV-specific GPS. The map apps on your phone won’t cut it. This Rand McNally® RVND

7 GPS is smarter than your smartphone with 11 pre-loaded RV and camper types, and millions of RV-friendly locations. This gift will greatly help your RVer friend plan their route safely and ensure they don’t miss any must-see spots along the way.

For the Social Butterfly

These are my favorite RVers at the campground. They are entertainers who love bringing people together and making new friends. If your full-timer friend is the ultimate host who loves to party and gather everyone around their campsite, here are some gift ideas for them.

Propane Fire Pit

You can’t have a campground gathering without a campfire. But this Portable Propane Outdoor Fire Pit needs no firewood, no tending, and you won’t have to go to bed smelling like smoke. It’s perfect for those last-minute get-togethers. You can still roast s’mores and tell stories around this clean flame.

Serving System

Campground pot lucks are so much fun but preparing food for a large group in a small kitchen is not. This Crock-Pot Hook-Up 3.5-Quart Connectable Entertaining System is perfect for making soup, chili, and side dishes and keeping them warm for the party. This gift is guaranteed to earn your full-timer friend the title, “hostess with the most-ess”.

Electric Cooler

If you invite someone to your campsite, you, of course, have to offer them something to drink. But, most RVs don’t have large refrigerators for storing enough food and beverages for a big group or family, let alone guests. Your full-timer friend will thank you for the extra space and portability that this ACOPOWER X50A Solar Fridge/Freezer/Cooler offers. It can be charged in three ways, the battery lasts up to 10 hours, and you can control the temperature so it can even serve as a freezer.

We love our ACOPOWER X50 LiONCooler and take it almost everywhere we go adventuring because it can charge in the car and we don’t have to worry about ice melting.

For the Remote Worker

RVing isn’t just for retirees anymore. So if your full-timer friend has a rolling office in their RV and works remotely to fund their adventures, you’ll want to really spoil them. Having experience working on the road myself, these gifts are sure to be a hit.

Wi-Fi Booster

There is nothing more frustrating than not having a strong internet signal when you’re trying to finish up work so you can go out and adventure. And let’s face it, campgrounds and RV parks say they offer Wi-Fi, but chances are it’s not great. However, this WiFi on Steroids GenX MEGA Booster can be a huge help if your friend is trying to attend that video meeting. Give the gift of productivity!

Portable Power

The biggest benefit of working remotely is getting to set up your office in nature. Why work from a cubicle when you can bring your work along on your adventures. My husband and I both work remotely and if it’s not a WiFi issue we have, it’s power. Having a portable, lightweight power station like this  Jackery Explorer 550 Outdoor Portable Power Station allows us to take our computers and our work with us anywhere. Whether it’s just outside at our campsite, or on the shore of a lake, it makes the workday much more enjoyable.

For the Dog Lover

If you know the way to your full-timer friend’s heart is through their dog, I’ve got some great ideas for you. These gifts will let Fido a happy camper, too! Win-win.

Temperature Monitor

Speaking from experience, one of the biggest struggles of having pets in the RV is making sure the temperature remains safe for them when you leave them unattended. This Waggle RV Pet Monitor 4G Lite is one of my favorites as a dog mom, and I know your friend will feel the same. You can monitor your pet’s environment, get alerts, and have peace of mind that your pet is safe–all from your phone.

Pet Enclosure

RV parks and campgrounds always have strict rules on keeping pets on leashes. But my dogs always wanted to be outside whenever we were. Their leashes would often get tangled or caught on the picnic table, so this Wire Pet Fence was super helpful for my furbabies. Like a miniature backyard, they can have a little freedom to lay out and sunbathe.

Dog Bed

How cute is this Etna Round Folding Chair Dog Bed? Our four-legged friends deserve a chair at the campfire, too! It’s perfect for pets living the RV life because it folds up for easy storage and the cushion is water-resistant for easy spot cleaning. Your full-timer friend’s pooch will be the talk of the campground in this adorable bed.
