Arrival and Setup
- Check-in Procedures: Upon arrival, follow all park rules for check-in. This may include a stop at the ranger station or self-check-in at a kiosk.
- Site Inspection: Before backing in, walk around your assigned site. Check for any obstacles like low branches, rocks, or uneven ground. Identify where your hookups are located.
- Leveling Your RV:
- Use a leveling tool to ensure your RV is as level as possible.
- Use leveling blocks under your tires or jacks to achieve proper leveling. This is crucial for appliances to function correctly and for comfortable sleeping.
- Chock Your Wheels: Always place wheel chocks on both sides of at least one tire to prevent your RV from rolling, especially on sloped sites.
- Electrical Connection:
- Ensure the circuit breaker at the power pedestal is in the "off" position before plugging in your RV's power cord.
- Connect your surge protector first, then plug into the pedestal.
- Flip the circuit breaker to the "on" position.
- Water Connection:
- Use a potable water hose (white or blue) for your fresh water connection.
- Consider using a water pressure regulator to protect your RV's plumbing from high water pressure.
- Run water through the hose before connecting it to your RV to flush out any debris.
- Sewer Connection:
- Connect your sewer hose to your RV's black water tank outlet first, then securely attach it to the campsite sewer connection.
- Ensure the hose is sloped downwards for proper drainage.
- Keep the black tank valve closed until it's full, then dump the black tank first, followed by the gray tank to rinse the hose.
- Respect Quiet Hours: Be mindful of designated quiet hours, typically in the evenings and mornings. Keep noise levels down during these times.
- Pet Etiquette: Keep pets on a leash, clean up after them, and prevent excessive barking.
- Campfire Safety:
- Only build fires in designated fire rings.
- Keep a bucket of water or a fire extinguisher nearby.
- Never leave a campfire unattended.
- Completely extinguish fires before going to bed or leaving the campsite.
- Waste Disposal: Use designated trash and recycling bins. Never leave food or trash outside, as it can attract wildlife.
- Disconnect Hookups:
- Close the gray and black tank valves and disconnect the sewer hose.
- Turn off the water at the spigot and disconnect the water hose.
- Turn off the circuit breaker at the power pedestal and disconnect your electrical cord.
- Secure Your RV: Close all windows and vents, lock doors, and secure loose items inside and outside your RV.
- Perform a Walk-Around: Do a final walk-around of your RV and the campsite to ensure nothing is left behind and your site is clean.
Remember to consult your RV's owner's manual for specific instructions and recommendations for your model. Enjoy your camping adventures!
